1. Establishing purpose
The purpose of the measurement management system is described in the ISO 10012 standard "Introduction":
An effective measurement management system ensures that the measurement equipment and measurement process are adapted to the intended use, and it is important to achieve product quality objectives and manage the risk of incorrect measurement results.
The goal of the measurement management system is to manage the risk of affecting the quality of the product of the organization due to incorrect results that may result from the measurement equipment and measurement process.
According to the ISO10012 standard, the purpose of establishing a measurement management system is to ensure that the measuring equipment and measurement process can meet the intended use. The measurement management system manages the measurement equipment and the measurement process, manages the risk caused by incorrect measurement results to the organization, minimizes the incorrect measurement results that may be generated, and reduces the product quality risk caused by inaccurate measurement.
