1. What is Medron?
Metro Co., Ltd. (the industry standard established by the land; however, if the above laws, regulations or standards and the implementation of this document conflict, the higher level of the standard is preferred.
(Metro AG) is often referred to as “Metrolong Supermarket”. It is the largest retail supermarket group in Germany, the second in Europe and the third in the world. It owns several Metros in the Metro and Megan (Europe only) brands. The mall is a constituent company of the German stock index DAX, one of the world's top 500, with branches in 32 countries. Created by Otto Beisheim and currently based in Düsseldorf. In 1964, in the business world, a new concept and management method was born in Germany, this is Metro. It operates Cash and Carry (C&C) shopping malls, large department stores, super-large supermarket discount chain stores, and specialty stores in 32 countries around the world.
The Metro Group has a clear structure. At the highest level is the Metro Group, which strategically manages the entire joint stock company. The Metro Group operates in four parts and has six independent sales regions and different brands. Cash and carry are for commercial and professional customers, while others are for retail sales and end customers. The so-called cross-regional service companies provide services to all sales areas within the group, such as procurement, logistics, information technology, advertising, finance, insurance, and catering. Metro Cash & Carry is the most sales and most international branch of the Metro Group.
Today, the group has more than 2,100 stores in 33 countries around the world. With the joint efforts of 100,000 employees, the company's turnover in 2010 reached 31 billion euros.
2. The benefits of Metro's inspection:
1. Limited supply chain management of the target group;
2. The computer combines the human brain;
3. Establish standardized operations;
4. Limit customers to reduce costs;
The operation of Metro's entire supply chain is driven by the needs of customers. Therefore, it always thinks from the perspective of customers and provides more perfect goods and services. For example, for small and medium-sized retailers, hotels, restaurants, factories, enterprises, government and groups, one of the characteristics of supply chain management is to implement a membership-based management system for customers without charge, and establish a customer information management system.
Metro believes that if the company does not limit customers, let everyone come, the operating costs will increase, and the management will be more difficult. For example, the display of goods on the shelves can be placed one by one, or one box or one box. But if you put a box of Coca-Cola on the shelf, put it one by one and put it 24 times. If one box and one box are placed, one time is enough, and the goods can be put on the shelves directly from the receiving place by machine. Metro is targeting customers who are willing to buy one box and one box, not those who want to buy one. This reduces operating costs and reduces personnel costs.
Second, by limiting the customer base, you can analyze their needs, increase the products they like, and reduce the items they don't need, thus optimizing the variety of products. For example, other retail supermarkets may need 400,000 items to meet their customers' needs; Metro only needs 150,000, and the former requires twice as many varieties as the latter. Metro only focuses on the target customers and knows what they need, so they can effectively control the number of varieties. Otherwise, the company needs more investment, more suppliers, more negotiations... This is the cost. From a technical point of view, limiting customer scope can increase operational efficiency.
